I really hate my hair it's to thick. I look at all the famous black sistas their hair is great. Its straight and esay looking. People say that's weave they go to the salon. But I can't affored to do that. I have a sraighten comb and flat iron. But it doesn't work good enough. I could perm my hair but i'm going bald on my right temple of my hair. Because I sleep on my right side. I'm scared to perm fearing it will get worse. Can any body give any ideas on what to do to make my hair better. Thanks

well, you will have to invest on a really good hair straightner such as the CHI. its expensive but will work better. Also, go to the store and get some hair products that u can put in before or after that help while straightnening your hair.

I have thick black curly hair myself. Though I'm white :-). As a teen I had it chemically straightened, which is like a perm except for they put in huge curlers to straighten it out.

Your hair should not be going bald from sleeping on that side of your head. It may be a nutritional issue. Protein deficiency is a leading cause of hair loss. You may want to consult your doctor about the hair loss.

Queen Latiah doesn't have a perm, she only perms her hair. So you can get that nice sleek look your looking for without chemicals, but it's hard to keep up. Anytime you cme near any type of moisture your hair will fizz right up. If you go to a hair stylist and explain your concerns they can find a perm that will be right for your hair and texture. I always find people on the street who have nice hair and ask them where they get there hair done, to find a good hair stylist. Best wishes

Don't know much about it but I guess some good straightening irons like GHD or Chi with ceramic plates would be good. Perhaps try at about 220 degrees. Use straightened hair shampoo and conditioner and straight and sleek serum?

I think you should find out why you are going bald. It is important to have healthy hair and scalp. You can try deep conditioning. Hot oil treatments.

I agree most famous people have weaves or wigs. They do have the weaves you can clip in. I have never tried them so I don't know how they work. You have to make sure you keep your hair and scalp moist or your hair will become dry and brittle. They have hair books you can purchase that will tell you how to take care of your hair type. Most sistas have perms. You can do it yourself if your hair is in good condition. Also a wave is nice too.

If you are pressing maybe you are getting the comb too hot. Heat can damage your hair.

Hey, well like you I have really thick hair, and the way I get mine to be manageable is that I go to a really good beautician and get a perm. AFTER, the perm is done and finished , then she flat irons it and there ya go. So o try finding a good hair dresser and see what they have to say:)
