I have slightly wavy hair, that I just blow dry straight usually. Sometimes the second day, I don't have time to wash my hair (and it's actually not good to wash it every single day), so I put mousse in it. It comes in a bottle that slightly resembles.. like a redi-whip whipped cream bottle. Actually the product looks like whipped cream too. I use the one from White Rain. It's cheap and it works the best for me. I like the one with a lighter hold because it doesn't make my hair stiff. I apply it to my dry hair, and go about "scrunching" it. Sometimes, I flip my hair over (like put my head down), and scrunch it that way. It's great because, if you use the light hold one, it dries without looking like gel and being stiff, but looks really good. You might want to experiment with mousse. Don't apply it to your wet hair, though. It can't hurt, anyway.. it's cheap and easy to find/use. Hopefully it will work :o) Good luck!

if you use garnier fructise hold strong spray or gel, you can use that to scrunch you hair, cuz i've used that and it works. or here is a picture of alyson michalka's hair:

shes right. it has to be naturally wavy to just scrunch it with some soft hold gel or whatever.
you can get the same effect with a curling iron. wrap your hair vertically in a spiral around it, and tug lightly after you unroll it from the curling iron, that way it will look loose and long and beachy.
make sure you use good products, start with a smoothing shampoo and conditioner to reduce frizz and then maybe some medium hold gel or mousse for texture. then blowdry with your fingers and then separate into sections, when youre donw you can scrunch a little shine wax ( i like Goldwell Trendline Shine Wax) in for separation. dont use anything with water as a main ingredient ( like gel) when its dry, cause that will make it straighten out again.
good luck!
